I do hope that you  had a very special Christmas with family and friends,
and that the New year was celebrated in the custom you enjoy. The New year
is only two weeks old, and the short getaway that I had seems so far away
now.

At the end of last year I did a couple of Air to Air photographic
assignments which I will share with you on the website. The one I was doing
of the Fairchild was cut short due to bad weather but we still managed to
get a few pictures before beating a swift retreat back to Stellenbosch
Airfield. I was shooting from a Navion which was a treat in itself, a real
Cadillac of the skies. The Navion is very good as a photographic platform
because of the sliding canopy which can be held open giving a photographer
about a 20 centimetre gap to shoot through. I will be re doing the shoot on
the Fairchild soon and I am going to persuade the Navion owner that we need
to take some pictures of his beautiful aircraft.

The film Vulcan returns is now ready and being pressed, it has been a long
road and the results are worth the wait. A very special man by the name of
Tony Hulls has given me the usage of historical footage that he had taken
over the years of the Vulcan and combined with the footage taken at
Waddington, Farnborough and Bruntingthorpe this is a comprehensive
documentary on the Vulcan. Interviews with the Pilots and engineers and some
of the people who did the great work to get her back into the air.

Airshow UK I is now ready for pressing and the response to this film has
been very favourable. It is made up of my journey to the major air shows and
displays during 2008. Waddington, Kemble, Farnborough to mention a few.
Number I has as pride of place the Vulcan and that great team that put XH558
back into the sky. The A380, Chinook, the Indian Helicopter aerobatic team
the Sarangs, the Red Arrows and that incredible formation landing by the
Patrulla Aquila to mention a few.It is one hundred and six minutes long and
there are only two pieces of music, one at the beginning and one at the end,
the rest is pure air show noise. Airshow Uk II will be completed by the end
of February and has a whole chapter on the Raptor display at both
Farnborough and at Fairford.

My best to you all for the New Year, please forward this on to any of your
Aviation friends.

Best wishes

Andrew and the Black Eagle Team.
